Making a face.

Making a face
Ladies and gentlemen, the most awaited part. I present you- "How to make an actual face" TAADAAA!!
Haha, so lets begin with drawing 5  lines horizontally and vertically (2 of my lines were erased while sketching)
It will be easier if I explain you guys step by step:
Step 1 : After you are done drawing 5 lines horizontally and vertically with equal space. Go to step 2.
Step 2: Draw an oval shape across the 5th line.
Step 3: For eyes- make a line exactly vertically at the center of the oval. Leave some space equally on both sides to make an eye. For nose- It should be sketched in the middle of the vertical line as you can see in above sketch and For lips- Draw it in between the last two horizontal line.
Step 4: Ears should be made in the same line from where you sketched your eyes and you're ready to go !  - Goodluck-

Sorry guys, i have not been updated since a long long time. It's such a hurdle to update as well as study for finals when you were victim of massive 7.8 rector earthquake. Fortunately, all is well and i am able to update the blog. So, after sketching the nose let's move forward to the nostrils and the lips. Practicing nose of different shape with the side view is a plus point before you sketch the actual face. Nostrils are usually darker than other parts of the nose. So, i used 6b pencil to sketch the darkest area and shaded the lighter  with 3b pencil.

Moving forward to the lips, what you should jot down is- Lower lips is bigger than the upper lips. so, always sketch the lower lips a bit larger and shade with 3b and 2b. Whereas, there are some cases where the upper lips are bigger than the lower lips; in this case, upper lips should be shaded for a realistic look. The middle part of the lower lips is shiner, softer and usually pinkish so, don't try to shade it darker rather, use a lighter shade and an eraser to make it more brighter on the middle. The edge of the lips should be darker. Use 2b,3b and 6b as you sketch the lips. goodluck :)

So, for the next level. Nose is essential. I used 4B and 8B pencil. since, i am a beginner myself i don't use a lot of pencils for the shading as i do charcoal most of the time. Using different shades of pencil helps you enhance the nose and makes it look more realistic. Make sure that you practice a lot of parts like lips, nose, eyes, ears before you start sketching the face.
Before you start sketching the major part of the face, what you have to focus the is the eye. A women's eyes is the most important part of the face. The eyes emerge the character of a person. I used 4B and 8B pencil. 4B is for the all the detail parts and the sketch of an eye whereas, 8B pencil is for the darker shading of the eyes. You should practice a lot of sketches of different kind of eyes before starting to draw an actual face.

Nepal is a country full of culture, tradition and full of diversities. Kumari is a living goddess, it is a tradition of worshiping young pre-pubescent girls as manifestations of the divine female energy or devi in Hindu religious.   So, here a a charcoal sketch by Me of Kumari- the living goddess.

Jogi smoking. A Nepali culture.
